Otters’ Haunt is a rustic country retreat. The land was first surveyed more than 130 years ago, and the current river house was probably built in the 1960s. We have maintained a peaceful and secluded ambience in spite of the tourism developments that have gone on in Parys and surroundings.
The atmosphere of an old-established Vaal River holiday home clings to the place (Otters’ Den). Other outbuildings have been converted into our Reception centre, a compact conference facility (Heron’s Nest), and a chalet (The Guinea Fowl Cottage). We purchased the farm next door and in 2004 built the delightful thatched bush camp. The 3 lower cabins will sleep up 10 or more with added beds, and the Cormorant Cabin sleeps 4 (2 in a double bed).
