OTTERS HAUNT ACCOMMODATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS By making a reservation, you agree that you are bound by these Terms and Conditions. Rates are quoted on inquiry and are per head per night self-catering unless otherwise specified. Note that the Otters Haunt property (not the Bush Camp) has converted entirely to Solar energy. This means that at night we run off stored energy in batteries. When capacity is exceeded the system shuts down. We run generators to supplement power morning and evening. The system will be explained to you on arrival. We request that you limit night-time use of devices that draw a lot of power. Catering can be arranged for groups if booked well in advance. There is no shop or restaurant on the premises. Firewood is sold. Fallen branches and dead trees may not be used for firewood – they form part of the ecology. Check-In / Out times are flexible – please ensure that we are notified of your intended time of arrival. Normal check in times are 12 noon, and check out time 10 am. Gates open at 6am and close at 8pm. Guests are given a key on arrival. If you are coming late, make arrangements. For security reasons we do not open gates for latecomers unless you contact us to confirm your arrival and booking details. Bed linen, towels, kitchenette, crockery and cutlery are provided Breakages must be reported and paid in cash on departure. DSTV is available to guests in Otters Den guest house and Guinea Fowl cottage. Internet Wi-Fi is available in the Heron’s Nest conference room if we are online, as there are times when the satellite service may fail. A charge is made for Internet use per day and a password issued. Payment is in advance on our invoice via electronic bank transfers. Deposit: – your reservation is only confirmed once we have received 50% of the booking value. The Balance of the booking value (50%) to be paid 5 days prior to arrival or by arrangement between yourself and us. Cancellation Policy: The 50% deposit is held for all bookings. Given more than 14 days notice, provided we refill the booking, we may return part or all of deposits at our own discretion, less an administration fee of 25%. At all times cancellations made 0-14 days before arrival: No refunds. In the event of a booking with full payment being cancelled within the last few days, no refunds. In the event of premature departure we may charge the full original booking. Confirmed bookings will not be affected by any changes to our rates after the deposit has been paid. Whilst all efforts have been made with regards to your security and safety, the owners, management and staff are not liable for any losses, damage or injury of any nature by guests or their property on the premises. Malicious or accidental damage caused by you, your client/s, guest/s or invitee/s, will be charged for at the full replacement cost of the damaged item. An additional cleaning charge will be levied accordingly, e.g. heavily soiled bedding, stained carpets, etc. For the comfort of others, boisterous and rowdy behaviour will not be tolerated and if necessary, disruptive guests will be asked to leave without refund. No music is allowed. (This is in terms of the regulations of the Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site, but is also our policy in order to preserve the peace and quiet of this beautiful area). Please observe this or you will be asked to switch it off! We do not permit certain breeds of dogs on the Pet-friendly visits. Dogs are to be kept under control at all times. We take great care regarding personal information that is provided to us online ensuring it is used only for stated purposes. We do not pass either your email address or personal details on to any third party. We have taken all reasonable care to ensure the accuracy of the information presented on this website, however it does not make any warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of the information within or accessible through the site. Activities such as hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, rafting and whatever else you may undertake are by their nature risky and you participate voluntarily and at your own risk and on your own responsibility. Guided activities are available on request at Reception.
