RIVER
HOUSE
About it
The River House, or Otters' Den, lends real meaning to
graceful outdoor living. Walk in off the oak-shaded lawns and enjoy a
refreshing swim in the swimming pool. The large roofed porch overlooks the
pool with the river below. Built nearly half
a century ago, the main "Otters' Den" River House has
one of the most impressive and exclusive outlooks
along the entire Vaal.

About
the
accommodation
Bedrooms with lounge, porch, jacuzzi, pool
The large main bedroom has its own entrance, as
does the fitted kitchen and scullery. Two other bedrooms are available,
each with its own character and suitable for couples or family. The lounge
has a fireplace for those roaring winter blazes, along with pool table and
TV. There is an Internet connection in the main bedroom.
Attached to the River House are:
-
Porcupine Room.
This peaceful garden flat with its own entrance,
kitchenette and river outlook, is often let as a
separate unit to couples.
-
Fish Eagle Room and Owl
Room. Although they have their own entrances, these
go with the Otters' Den River House. Fish Eagle takes
2-3 people and has a bathroom en suite. Owl Room takes
2.

QUOTE
'Truly extraordinary value. We didn't
know what to expect but found this homestead with a charming
Italian-type ambiance, jewel-like pool, hot jacuzzi, and utter
peace. A weekend felt like a full holiday!'
*
'A fantastic fitted kitchen with a
panoramic view of the Vaal and a great social porch. It was ideal
for Christmas."
*
"It's hidden at the river, and long
may it remain so."
*
"We came for a family reunion, to
reconnect, and left feeling really comfortable with each other. It
was the braai by the waterside, and the walks on the island. It
worked on us."
*
'The atmosphere of the river right on
the doorstep. I suppose it can turn into a raging torrent. Not often
though. The fireflies in the evenings, the cry of the fish eagles,
early morning mist on the water, and the splash of hungry fish.
Utterly divine to sit and take it all in."
